Pan Fried Tofu

Ingredients:
Firm Tofu – 1 block (14 oz)
Corn Starch – approx 2-3 tbsp
Optional: cayenne pepper (use sparingly, very spicy)

Soy Scallion Sauce:
3 tbsp soy sauce, 2-3 tsp Korean chili flakes (gochugaru), 1 minced garlic clove, 2 tsp toasted sesame seeds, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp chopped green onions.

1. The trick is to dry the tofu well. Cover entire tofu block with paper towel to dry out excess water. Put a pan on top and let sit for 15 minutes.
2. Cut tofu into 1-0.5″ pieces.
4. Put corn starch and sprinkle of cayenne pepper into a bowl.
3. Heat pan with oil (I use avocado oil). When hot, dip both sides of tofu into the corn starch mixture and put on pan, leaving space in between.
4. Let tofu pan fry untouched for 6-7 minutes on one side. Turn and cook the other side for ~4 minutes.
5. Remove and serve with dipping sauce.

Enjoy!
